Breeding Bird Atlases

North American Breeding Bird Atlas Explorer
The NBII Bird Conservation Node partners with the USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center to develop the North American Breeding Bird Atlas (BBA) Explorer website, and the BBA Viewer, which provide access to results from multiple state and provincial Breeding Bird Atlas projects. The BBA Explorer website provides information on the methods used in each Breeding Bird Atlas project, and allows users to retrieve Atlas project results in a tabular form by species, block or region (e.g., by county). The BBA Viewer is a mapping application that allows users to map species results from multiple Breeding Bird Atlases in North America.

Breeding Bird Atlas Projects
There is no one site that lists all atlas projects.  However, one of the most extensive lists of North American atlas projects on the web is available through the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas website.

North American Ornithological Atlas Committee (NORAC)
This website, hosted by the American Birding Association, provides information about Breeding Bird Atlases in North America, including methods and lists of published atlas projects and current contacts for projects in progress.
